He is also believed to have invented oil painting.

2. Leonardo Da Vinci

The name of this magnificent painter and one of the greatest artists of all time is Leonardo Da Vinci. Born in the year 1452 in Florence, Italy (formerly called as Vinci).

Because Leonardo Da Vinci went through troubled times of his personal life and also experienced political challenges, he came to be known as ‘Leonardo Da Vinci’, though his real name was Leonardo Di Ser Piero. He always had an ambition in fine arts and was successful in doing so. Leonardo Da Vinci began painting at an early age and, as time passed by and people started noticing his works, he rose to fame. However, a currently known fact is that Leonardo’s last painting was never completed due to his ailing age. His last painting is believed to be his self-portrait which is now left incomplete.
